When is the Motor Show held?
The event is held the same weekend as the Kings Birthday weekend in all other states (except WA and Qld). Friday is traditionally a set up day with no planned events until 6pm with the Meet N Greet and bar open.
FRIDAY NIGHT - LIVE BAND, BAR AND FOOD
Friday night Meet n Greet kicks off with FREE ENTRY at the Showgrounds WITH LIVE MUSIC.
Hot Food at the Canteen will be available and Cold drinks will be on sale at the Bar.
SATURDAY NIGHT - OFF-SITE EVENT.
Pre-paid tickets are only available online through EVENTBRITE and must be purchased prior to the Monday previous to the event for catering purposes.

How much for a Swap Site or Market Stall and has it changed this year?
Sites are $25 for the Saturday and Sunday per site in addition to Gate Fees.
Sites must be pre-booked as they are limited in number.

How much to enter my Car or Bike and has it changed this year?
Previous participants will be emailed a link to the current event's form and it will also be posted on our website and Facebook pages in 2027.

- $10 to participate in the Super Cruises (all types of vehicles)
- $20 to participate only in the Observation Rally

Can we camp?
Camping is available only for paid Motor Show Entrants and Swap Site Holders from Friday night through until Monday morning.
Due to limited camping space available, other spectators, friends and other family members who are not Entrants or Site Holders attending the Event are encouraged to contact other Accommodation options in Charters Towers.
What time does the whole event kick off?
Gates open at 9am on Friday 4th June 2027 for Set Up only.
Purchase a Weekend Pass to cover you for Friday and the weekend. Gate fees will be payable for the single-day price if you are only coming in on Friday
No early-bird arrivals will be allowed entry prior to this time, so if you are arriving Thursday or earlier, please contact other Accommodation options in Charters Towers.
Sites are allocated so you do not have to arrive earlier to get a better site!
Friday Gates open at 9am and are closed at 6pm for Swap and Camping.
Saturday Gates open 7am and are closed at midnight.
Sunday Gates open 7am and are closed in the evening for campers staying until Monday.
If you are camping at the grounds, please note that vehicles arriving after 6pm will be required to park outside the grounds until gates re-open at 7am.

Do you have EFTPOS facilities or a Courtesy Bus?
This year we will have EFTPOS facilities offered by the Charters Towers Restorers Club Inc at the main gate, swappers gate, office and bar.
There are no onsite ATM's. The nearest are located in Gill Street (the main street).
The phone number for the local Taxi service is 131 008.
Can we take our dogs to the event?
Dogs are only allowed in the Swap Meet Area but MUST BE LEASHED AT ALL TIMES.
Please bring your own "doggie bags" to clean up after your dog..
Strictly NO DOGS in the Motor Show Arena - we thank you for your understanding in this matter.
Are there any Rules?
The Charters Towers Restorers Club Inc has had rules for the Motor Show and Swap Meet for a number of years, as the Event attracts people for two very different reasons, therefore we would appreciate if everyone could be mindful of how their behaviour and noise level may affect other people's enjoyment of the event.
Be aware that this event is located in a residential area. Please refrain from excessive noise, or unnecessary speed/noise when driving out from the Showgrounds.
The local Police will be conducting drive-through checks throughout the course of the event. These for the benefit and safety of the participants. They are not the Fun Police , nor are they there to dampen your fun!!
- No BYO alcohol due to Licencing restrictions - random checks may occur
- No Alcohol to be taken past the Licenced Area.
- No Glass
- No Unrestrained Dogs in Swap Meet area (please clean up after your dog)
- No Dogs in Motor Show arena, food areas or bar area
- No pushbikes, skateboards or recreational vehicles to be driven or ridden in the grounds
- No excessive noise
- Generators to not be used between 10pm and 6am
- Electrical leads cannot be run across walkways or roadways'
- Camping and display sites must be left clean and tidy upon leaving.
Charters Towers Restorers Club Executive members reserve the right to reject and/or eject any person or firm they deem as undesirable for any reason.
